This quiz is about the travel routes of famous European explorers. Match the names of the explorers with the routes on the world map. A rather easy quiz with 6 questions.

Here you can learn the names and travel routes of six famous European explorers. Five of the six explorers fall into the so-called Age of Exploration (1416-1600). Only Marco Polo's travels were much earlier. And his “alleged complete itinerary” is not historically proven.

Christopher Columbus has gone down in history as the discoverer of America. However, he did not reach the American mainland on his first voyage, but various Central American islands (today the Bahamas, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic). The later discovered Americas were named after the Florentine Amerigo Vespucci, who also coined the term New World.

You can also change the learning language to see the names of the explorers in other languages.
Well-known non-European explorers, such as Ibn Battuta or Zheng He, are not part of this learning game.
This quiz covers the following routes:
Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan, Francis Drake, John Cabot (Giovanni Caboto), Marco Polo and Vasco da Gama
