A few notes: The connection between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic is called the "Strait of Gibraltar" (see Europe - Waters Quiz). Gibraltar is a small peninsula in the south of Spain. It is part of the United Kingdom. Therefore, the country is considered a Mediterranean littoral state. Spain claims Gibraltar as part their territory. Palestine has access to the Mediterranean Sea through the Gaza Strip. This is not visible here and Palestine is not part of this quiz.
