Argentina is divided into 23 federal provinces. Furthermore, there is the autonomous capital Buenos Aires. Most of the inhabitants live in the province of Buenos Aires. This is followed by the provinces Córdoba and Santa Fe and then the capital.

Argentina claims part of Antarctica, as well as the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Sandwich Islands and the South Orkney Islands. All these territories are also claimed (and controlled) by Great Britain. From the Argentine point of view, these territories are part of the province Tierra del Fuego (Fireland).
